The lathe work is extraordinary with compound collars and graceful precisely turned into the base of each piece. The pawns are extra large making them easy to handle during your game.The knight is artistically designed with elegant and intricate features that are meticulously hand carved including the eyes, nostrils, mouth, teeth and a braided mane.This is a large club size set with a 4.4 tall king and a wide base measuring 1.875 in diameter. The king comes with four interchangeable finials to create that are easily pressed into the top and stay in place. This is an unusual feature on even the highest high end sets. The pieces are triple weighted for exceptional stability on the chess board and cushioned with soft green baize pads. Two extra queens are included for pawn promotion.
