Blue Farm Wines 2016 Anne Katherina Vineyard Carneros Pinot Noir

Blue Farm Wines 2016 Anne Katherina Vineyard Carneros Pinot Noir

Tasting Notes Another lovely, deeply filled Pinot Noir from Blue Farm’s Anne Katherina Vineyard, and, like its partner, a serious, young, very well structured wine that goes well beyond simple fruit, this one marries dark cherries with suggestions of crème brûlée, sweet smoke and notes of dusty roses even while still a bit nascent and not wholly forthcoming just now. Make no mistake, this is a Pinot guaranteed to become more expressive with time, and its balance and fruity stamina are such that we have no hesitations in predicting that it will continue to unfold and fascinate even more over the next six to eight years. 93 Points, Connoisseurs’ Guide to California Wine, May 2019 A serious young, very well structured wine that goes well beyond simple fruit, this one marries dark cherries with suggestions of crème brûlée, sweet smoke and notes of dusty roses. 92 Points, The Wine Advocate A medium ruby purple color and gives up aromas of fresh black berry and black cherry, warm red cherry, smoke, forest floor and mushroom with a spicy undercurrent. The palate is medium bodied and silky with grainy tannins, good concentration of warm red fruits and spice in the mouth and a long finish. 92 Points, Wine Spectator Focused and intense, with finely textured flavors of red cherry, currant and raspberry supported by vibrant acidity. Pure and minerally on the refined finish.  92 Points, Jeb Dunnuck Spice box, kirsch, hints of cola, and underbrush all emerge from the 2016 Pinot Noir Anne Katherina Vineyard and it's elegant, medium bodied, and nicely balanced on the palate.
