A very happy customer… top-notch customer handling… very responsive…good turnaround time... I had engaged them to custom build product bundling functionality app-less. Awesome job done. Recommended
- REDACTEDSite performance and speedJan 29, 2021
We had a lot of problems with site speed thanks to a poorly coded site with excessive plugins and apps. Built By Blank redid the entire site, making it faster and also making it easier to understand the backend. Collaborating with them was a breeze, with no problems with timelines or communication gaps. Would definitely recommend
- REDACTEDStore migrationJan 28, 2021
One of the best experiences that I have had with a web developer! They were quick with the migration and offered options that made the end results in something that I can be proud of as a business owner. The store is sure to bring in more sales. Big Thanks to everyone at BBB.
- NAYOTHECORGISite performance and speedJan 14, 2021
I am not a person who likes to write bad review but this team's performance is really not up to what we have agreed on. If I could leave zero or even negative starts for communication, I will. Overall, the team has really great attitude but the way they communicate is very draggy and time consuming. It made me, as a customer, feel really tiring chasing after them. It takes way too much time from my side to be patient and get a reply I needed. below are the details of my experience with the team. I started the job with the team around Apr 22nd 2020 to increase the page speed of my website. I was pretty happy with the team's attitude at first that they agreed on my needs which I wrote down specifically. It sounds pretty promising. They completed the job around 14th May 2020. However, when we use different softwares to test the speed of the website after the job was done, there were no difference in page speed was shown. The speed of mobile site was still 12/100. The team reached out to me and said they want to discuss about the reasons and the project manager from the team told us he could work on it. After that, we checked again and the page speed was still not changed. The main reason that the team gave us was that we have multiple app plug-in to our site which slow down the speed significantly. We tried to be understanding on that and backed up by asking for the jobs they have done to our site to prove that at least they did something that deserve the $300 we paid. The way they agreed on our proposals are like "of course" " we understand" . Hence, we still got hope that this case could ended smoothly. For the list of work done (which we already tried to accommodate), without the team being able to show us prove that the page speed was increased, the team provided some details on 23rd Jun 2020 but the points were not making too much sense. For example, they simply wrote "lazy load" but when we ask, they could not say what were the lazy load they removed. Simply speaking, not much specific and valuable information was given to us to prove they did their job. The team kept asking us to have facetime to discuss about the problem but even after that (we had facetime on 13th Jul again) and both side agreed on giving us a better version (detailed version) of job done list, we did not get any update after that. We have been chasing them for an updated list multiple times ( on 10th Aug, 19th Aug and 2 Sep) after that through text messages and all response we got is Ayush will get back to us and the last time we got a response from them is 4th Sep 2020. Then no response was given at all after that date. From the start of the project 22nd Apr to this point 4th Sep, it has been over a half a year and we did not get any thing to prove that the $300 was justified. Then we reached out to Shopify to solve this case but based on Shopify's policy, the vendor has to agree on the refund before Shopify could make the transaction. Hence, we reached out on 24th Nov to the team again and asking for a refund of $150 (not in full) The team replied by saying they thought the job was completed and we have to remind them about what has happened. Then, just like the way they always worked, they asked for facetime with us, which we knew it won't help at all and we did not have the patience for it. Then they told us the same "they will get back to us" and we waited another two weeks and then we still had to chase them again. They finally agreed that they will gave us more details on the job done but when we got it, it was almost exactly the same as the vague one they provided to us long time before. Hence, for the $300 dollars, it does not worth us so much energy and effort to chase after anymore and we closed the case. Just want to mention that the team was really good for their attitude but the way they communicate and work is really tiring from a customer's point of view. They tends to be over-promising from appearance and when it goes to real work, it just feel like communication does not help the progress at all. On the side note, when they was making changes to our site, there was one instance that 3 of our site's button was malfunctioning. For that case, they were pretty fast to solve the problem for me but this was not suppose to happen at all.

Unfortunately, my experience with Built By Blank was not great. Initial discussions (In March) were positive, the team (India based), led by Shivam seemed to fully understand my requirement to build out a custom product configurator for my site, communication was not an issue in the early days, the team were all polite and professional. They took my detailed design/requirements document and gave me an estimated timescale of 1-2 weeks. This was to cost $850 so it all seemed realistic. The team confirmed they would code everything from scratch with no additional apps being required… great, work begins… 2 weeks pass, with frequent check-ins… everything is moving along and I’m told everything is on track and will be completed within days… another 2 weeks passes, still not done… “will be completed tomorrow, we had some delays” … I was very patient and said I’d rather it took a bit longer and was done well! Eventually, they send over the first version of the app and it isn’t even close to what I asked for, completely unusable and riddled with bugs. They promise they can get everything sorted “by tomorrow” … At this point I’m getting sick of the “it will be done tomorrow” message and gave them a generous couple of weeks to sort it all out… this comes and goes, app barely improves… this goes on and on and on… constant chasing for updates… by May (~8 weeks in) I’ve had enough and threaten to involve Shopify etc.. some decent progress gets made at this point which instils some confidence but it’s not long until it’s back to the same chasing for updates, nothing getting done. I’m then told that a key feature that was on the original proposal requires an app that was to cost me $5 a month. I was assured with this app everything would be done “by tomorrow”. I agree to this to get the app completed, they said they would re-imburse some of the cost as well which was fair enough. Having made considerable compromises on functionality including having to actually change code myself if I ever wanted to add new product options and using a paid app, by about July (4 months since the start) the app was maybe 60% what I asked for with one major issue yet to fix; the paid for app (a checkout donation app) would inform the user during checkout they were “donating” their basket total… I was told numerous times this wasn’t an issue and this message would be removed at some point… turns out the developers of that app wanted $1000 to make that change… I was told “just pay the $1000 and it will be sorted” … I refused and said they would either need to come up with another solution or pay it themselves. They didn’t want to pay so we were facing going through everything all over again to get the app “finished”. By this point I’m just exhausted with the whole thing and decide to make an offer; refund me 50% of the project cost and we just call it a day which they reluctantly agreed to. In August (5 Months from start) I receive a 50% refund which annoyingly, because of the exchange rate diving during covid, was closer to 40% but not Built By Blanks fault. The app isn’t worth getting sorted so it’s been deleted and I’m now looking for an alternative option… basically ended up just being a colossal waste of time and money!

The job was never complete and they tried to charge me double the initial fee to finish the work. Untrustworthy. I would avoid and use someone else.
